Dr. Katie Roberts
Dr. Katie Roberts graduated in 2003 from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing in Carson Valley for the past 6 years. She joined the staff of Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital in September of 2009. She has interests in general medicine, surgery, ultrasound and some exotic medicine.
Working at Lone Mountain has been a great experience, getting to work alongside people that truly care about their patients. Our clients are so dedicated to their furry family members that it is so rewarding to care for them.
I also enjoy working with pets who have not yet found their forever homes. At Lone Mountain, we help abandoned and homeless animals through Carson City Animal Services and the Carson Tahoe SPCA to provide medical care for them until they get placed. I work at Animal Services as well, providing vaccinations and care for the dogs and cats there.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jason and caring for my two beautiful girls, running them to various activities and volunteering at their schools. The girls both want to follow in my shoes to become veterinarians. Well, except for when they want to be princesses or pirates!
Margie Quirk, LVT/Owner
I started with Lone Mountain in December of 1995 as a part time
Veterinary Assistant, having had 7 years local experience. In January
2000, I passed the Nevada State Boards to become a Licensed Veterinary
Technician.
The opportunity to buy into the practice occurred in 2006, and 3
years later I assumed full ownership. This hospital and its staff mean
the world to me! I could not have asked for a more dedicated and
compassionate group of people with whom to spend my days. Proud to call
them my employees, I am also honored to call them my friends.
Margie has been married to her wonderful husband Greg for 26 yrs. They share their home with 4 rescued dogs, 5 cats, 3 horses and numerous chickens. In the summer they love to participate in Metric Century bicycle rides and in the winter they snowshoe, although there is nothing better than kicking back on a snowy day in front of the TV with a good movie.
Lisa Castillo, Client Relations Supervisor
I started with Lone Mountain in March of 2000 as a kennel attendant. I quickly moved to the front desk as Receptionist and knew this was exactly where I wanted to be. My Mother Lori and I are partners at the front desk and enjoy all of our wonderful furry friends.
I love working for Margie who is so compassionate and caring. I can't imagine working for someone else in this business without a huge heart like hers. I can honestly say this is the best place to work.
On my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband Rudy of 16 years, my 2 daughters Julia and Brooke Lyn and of coarse our Nana. We have 2 dogs Scooby and Charlie, 2 cats Jagger and Tigger and 2 beta fish.
Lori Martin, Director of First Impressions
I was born in Michigan and moved to Nevada in 1978. I started with Lone Mountain in 2007. I have been working side by side with my daughter Lisa as a receptionist. In 2011 I was the lucky one chosen by Margie to be part of the Leadership Class with The Carson City Chamber of Commerce. This was a great experience. I learned so much about the city and our community. I would definitely recommend everyone to be a part of The Leadership Class at some point.
I am a mother of 2 and have 3 beautiful grandchildren. I love to spend my time with my family and my 2 cats Tigger and Jagger.
Jessica Zich, Veterinarian's Assistant
My name is Jessica Zich. If you've been to Lone Mountain Vet. in the past five years you've probably seen me assisting any of our three awesome doctors with your loving pets. This is because I am currently a veterinarian's assistant. I started off in the kennel facility and quickly moved to the medical treatment area.
For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a veterinarian. As funny as this may sound, that all changed with every minute that I've worked here. I love what I do and I really enjoy my job. As a vet assistant and soon to be a veterinary technician I get to have and build a more personal relationship with each animal.
I am enrolled at Truckee Meadows Community College in the Veterinary Tech Program and look forward to having my technician license in the near future. I have many plans after that to further my education.
I am 23 years old and was born and raised here in Carson City. I live with my twin sister and neice who i just adore. We have 3 dogs, a sheperd mix, akita mix, and a wolf-husky mix. I also have 2 columbian pastel boas, which are only about 6 months old. I enjoy learning about them and watching their different personalities. My pets are like my children.
I look forward to see you and your beloved pets.
